The Muskingum baseball team dropped an 11-inning thriller in game one at sixth-ranked Marietta on Sunday, 6-5. The Pioneers won the nightcap, 19-4 in seven innings.

Inside The Numbers - Game 1
- Senior Holden Martin earned the start on the mound for the Muskies and pitched the first 6.1 innings. He allowed four runs off six hits and notched three strikeouts.
- Sophomore Devin Ryan led Muskingum at the plate with three hits and two RBIs, including a home run.
- Junior Brett Carson added three hits during the contest.
- Senior Matt Stewart notched two hits.
- Junior Chayce Lundell and freshman Ryan Schwartz each chipped in one hit and one RBI.

- Marietta tied it up, 5-5, in the eighth off a wild pitch from Muskingum.
- The Pioneers secured the win, 6-5, in the 11th inning off a sacrifice fly from Alex Page.

- Freshman Erik Cover started in the circle for the Muskies and pitched the first 3.1 innings. He allowed six runs off six hits.
- Carson led the Muskie offense with two hits.
- Schwartz and freshman Peyton Carr added one hit and two RBIs.
- Stewart, Lundell, sophomore Jake Hymrod, and junior Trey Yoder each chipped in one hit for Muskingum.
- Dylan Albright led Marietta with three hits and five RBIs.
- Trent Valentine pitched the first two innings for the Pioneers, allowing no runs off two hits.
The Difference - Game 2
- Marietta used an 11-run fourth inning to take control of the outing.
- The Muskies earned their first runs in the fifth inning off a two-RBI double from Schwartz to make it 14-2.
