Athletic Department announces staff additions for the 2021-22 Campaign
The Muskingum University Athletic Department has announced new staff additions for the 2021-22 campaign.  

Athletics Communication
 
Muskingum Assistant Atheltic Director Tom Caudill has named Jacob Reed '21 and Taylor Brown '21 Assistant Directors of Athletics Communication. Reed returns to campus after working for the Cleveland Indians Double-A affiliate, the Akron RubberDucks, as a creative services and gameday production intern. During his Muskie tenure, Reed was an active leader in the Athletics Communication Office and concluded his outstanding Muskie career by being the head resident assistant and by being named the Resident Assistant of the Year at the annual Muskingum Magnus Awards. (Jacob Reed full bio) 


Brown returns to her alma mater after being a four-year active leader in the Athletics Communication Office. Off-campus, Brown worked two seasons on the game entertainment crew for the Canton Charge, an NBA G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers. She helped provide an enthusiastic, energetic and positive game environment for fan interaction. Brown concluded her stellar career by being named the Muskie of the Year at the annual Muskingum Magnus Awards.

Athletic Training 
Muskingum Vice President/Athletic Director Steve Brockelbank has named Parker Lee '19 Head Athletic Trainer. Lee returns to his alma mater after receiving his master's degree from Ohio University and working as a graduate assistant for Marietta College as well as Lancaster High School. During his time at Ohio, Lee was involved in multiple graduate research studies. At Muskingum, Lee completed a summer athletic training internship with the Cleveland Indians Triple-A affiliate the Columbus Clippers, worked with John Glenn High School during the winter and spring sports seasons, and worked with a variety of Muskie sports. Baseball 
Muskingum baseball Head Coach Gregg Thompson has named Alex O'Donnell and Holden Martin '20 as assistant coaches for the program. O'Donnell arrives in New Concord after serving as the assistant coach for the Kokomo Jackrabbits, a colligate summer baseball team. Martin, a four-year letterwinner for the Muskie baseball program, recently served as a recruiter for the Owensboro RiverDawgs of the OVL and the Cortland Crush of the NYCBL Collegiate Summer Leagues. (Alex O'Donnell full bio) (Holden Martin full bio)

Esports 
Muskingum sports Head Coach Chris Bilski has named Tristan Murphy '19 as an assistant coach for the program. Along with his competitive esports background, Murphy also brings a wealth of experience in video editing and streaming. Working full time as a content creator, Murphy has produced content for Twitch, Youtube, and TikTok. In the past year, Murphy's stream has reached over 25,000 viewers and counting. Men's Basketball 
Muskingum men's basketball head coach Travis Schwab has named Brenton Franks '21 as an assistant coach for the program. Franks returns to New Concord after serving as a four-year student assistant for the Muskie men's basketball team. During his time with the Muskies, Franks assisted with all aspects of the program and helped guide the team to an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Final Four appearance in 2021. Men's Soccer 
Muskingum men's soccer Head Coach Adam Ponder has named Damon Spaeth '21 as an assistant coach for the program. Spaeth, a four-year member of the Muskingum men's soccer program, brings experience at both the amateur and collegiate levels of the game. Most recently, Spaeth served as a goalkeeper coach for Delaware Football Club, where he helped kids aged 10-16 develop technical skills, including handling and footwork. (Damon Spaeth full bio)

Men's Track and Field Indoor/Outdoor 
Muskingum track & field Director of Operations Jake Gleason has named Peyton Lalone as an assistant coach for the program. Lalone, a three-year letter winner from the State University of New York at Cortland men's track and field team, brings both experience and knowledge to New Concord. While at SUNY, Lalone received All-American honors in the 200-meter dash and all-region honors in the 4x400 relay. Women's Basketball 
Muskingum women's basketball Head Coach Erin Eaton has named Olivia Besancon '18 as the assistant coach for the program. Before returning to New Concord, Besancon spent a season serving as the assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Heidelberg University. During her time with the Student Princes, Besancon was the scouting and film supervisor. She prepared and ran film sessions, anchored the on-court scout team, and constructed and presented opponent scouting reports. (Olivia Besancon full bio)

Women's Soccer 
Muskingum women's soccer Head Coach Dani Gunderson has named Megan Jensen as an assistant coach for the program. Jensen, a three-year letterwinner of the North Central College women's soccer team, brings leadership and strong dedication to New Concord. She played in 34 career games and helped anchor the Cardinal backline en route to helping guide the team to 24 wins and a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament appearance.
