The academic excellence of Muskingum student-athletes shined bright during the 2019-20 year. The Muskies finished the spring semester with an outstanding 3.34 GPA to elevate the overall cumulative department GPA to 3.01.

Muskingum had 19-of-20 teams finish the spring semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Leading the charge for female sports was women's cross country with a 3.81 GPA, while male sports were paced by men's golf with a 3.61 GPA.

Overall, Muskingum features 13 teams that have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Muskie volleyball team leads the department with a 3.50 GPA, while men's cross country leads the male sports with a 3.23 GPA.

Muskingum competes at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the prestigious Ohio Athletic Conference.
