Tom Caudill is the Associate Athletic Director and Director and Assistant Professor of Sports Communication at Muskingum University.

Caudill spearheaded a campus-wide effort to make Sports Communication an academic major at Muskingum. The new program, under the direction of Caudill, debuted in the fall of 2016 and positions Muskingum graduates as highly qualified candidates for jobs in college athletics, professional sports organizations, amateur sports organizations, and numerous other positions within the sports industry.

Most recently, Caudill helped develop and launch Muskingum's first-ever Corporate Partnership Program and managed the rebranding of the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony to the Night of Impact dinner. Caudill also played a vital role in establishing the Muskie Athletic Club and the Parent Partners Program.

Throughout his tenure at Muskingum, which has included serving as President of the Ohio Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors, Caudill has administered and run all home athletic events for 25 varsity sports, supervised and managed numerous Ohio Athletic Conference Championship contests and NCAA Regional Championship events, handled all public relations and community relation efforts for the athletic department, and collaborated with CBS Sports on three nationally-televised stories on Muskingum athletics. In addition, he actively nominates and promotes student-athletes and coaches for conference, regional, and national honors.

Caudill also created and manages the Muskingum athletics social media program, which includes a Facebook fan page, Twitter feed, and Instagram account. All of these platforms have increased Muskingum’s presence among key constituents, such as media, student-athletes, parents, and alumni.

Furthermore, he pioneered Muskingum’s first-ever Internet and video broadcasting network and managed Muskingum’s redesign and launch of its new state-of-the-art athletic website fightingmuskies.com. Caudill also served on the D3soccer.com Top 25 voting panel and was a member of the CoSIDA Publications Contest Committee.

In addition to his work in the Sports Communication field, Caudill has spent almost two decades as part of Muskingum’s First-Year Seminar Program. The program helps acclimate incoming students to the college environment. Caudill also serves as a guest lecturer on topics that include Muskingum athletic history and media ethics.

Caudill also serves as an advisor for Muskingum's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and manages and directs SAAC's year-end ESPY-style awards show, the Golden Hook Awards. SAAC, which represents all of Muskingum's 25 varsity sports, works to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunities and communication between student-athletes and the athletics administration.

Caudill graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in journalism and earned his M.A.E. from Muskingum University. Caudill resides in New Concord, Ohio, with his wife, Mary Beth, and their two sons, Tanner and Ty.
