Paige and Besancon honored by SAAC

The Muskingum Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced that men's basketball freshman guard Jalen Paige and women's basketball sophomore guard Olivia Besancon have been named the SAAC Muskies of the Month for November.

Paige was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week after the opening weekend of play and leads the Muskies and ranks eighth in the league averaging 15.5 points per game. He ranks third in the conference in field goal shooting percentage (30-of-51/.588), three-point shooting percentage (9-of-16/.563) and in assists per game (4.8).

Besancon leads Muskingum and ranks third in the OAC averaging 19.7 points per game. She ranks second in the league in three-point field goal shooting percentage (15-of-25/.600) and 10th in field goal shooting percentage (19-of-37/.514). Besancon was honored for her player earlier in the season when she was named to the Allegheny All-Tournament team.

SAAC Muskies of the Month nominees are nominated by Muskingum coaches and voted on by SAAC representatives from Muskingum's 21 varsity sports.

The mission of SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity and communication between the student-athletes and athletics administration, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image on campus and in the New Concord community. SAAC representatives have dedicated themselves to helping and promoting their fellow student-athletes, Muskingum and the community. Their efforts have helped to enhance a tradition of involvement by Muskingum student-athletes.
