Men's Lacrosse falls in hard fought battle against Capital

The Muskingum men's lacrosse team concluded their season with a hard fought contest against the Capital Comets that finished with a score of 11-8.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (9-8 Overall, 3-6 OAC), Capital (8-8 Overall, 7-2 OAC)
  • Location: Bullock Health and Wellness Complex - New Concord, Ohio
  • Attendance: 274

Inside The Numbers

  • The Muskies recorded eight goals, three assists, 32 shots, 40 ground balls, nine caused turnovers, and 18 saves.
  • Muskingum was led by freshman Evan Cosgrove who tallied four goals on seven shots. Cosgrove also notched five ground balls in the game.
  • Senior Spencer Zecchini added two goals to the Muskies offensive showing. Zecchini also finished with four ground balls.
  • Junior Jackson D'Amico and sophomore Tyler Workman both rattled off one goal to close out the Muskies scoring efforts.
  • Senior Hunter McGuire, senior Grant Webster, and junior Drew Schneider each got their hands involved in the offense by dishing out an assist.
  • Webster also added three ground balls in the game.
  • Schneider finished the night with 15-23 (65%) face-off percentage. Schneider grabbed a dominant 10 ground balls from his work battling in face-off's. 
  • Senior Chase Kesler forced three caused turnovers, while senior Harry Galloway Jr. added two caused turnovers. 
  • Senior Trevor Connolly went the whole way for the Muskies in goal tonight. Connolly logged an impressive 18 saves, while also securing five ground balls and causing one turnover in his dominant defensive performance. 
  • Capital was led by Mason Spaulding who tallied three goals and two assists.
