Muskingum to host first-ever indoor track and field meet in the BHWC

Muskingum University will host its first-ever indoor track and field meet in the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex (BHWC) on Saturday, January 14. The meet will start at 11:00 AM.

The historic event will showcase the 119,000-square-foot facility that supports athletics, academic programs, recreation, and well-being. The BHWC features state-of-the-art track & field facilities, including a 200-meter regulation track with an OSST ProTraxxElite surface that surrounds 60 yards of sand-based turf, two long jump and triple jump pits, two pole vault runways, an elevated high jump runway, two throwing areas, and a multi-purpose video board.

The third-floor mezzanine area houses bleachers around the upper oval to provide optimal spectator seating and viewing for indoor track and field meets and other fieldhouse events.

The inaugural meet will feature Muskingum, Wittenberg, Denison, Cuyahoga Community College, West Liberty, Chatham, Rio Grande, Geneva and Washington and Jefferson. Several live video feeds and live stat options will be available to follow all the memorable action at fightingmuskies.com.

Fans can secure their tickets ahead of the meet or on-site by purchasing them online at the Fighting Muskies' official ticketing page found at fightingmuskies.com/athletics/tickets or via the HomeTown Ticketing mobile app available through the App Store or Google Play. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students, and children 5-and-under are free. Muskingum faculty, staff, their families, Muskingum students, and parents of Muskingum student-athletes will receive free admission to the event.

The Muskies will host three additional home meets on January 21, January 28, and February 17 and will round out their season by competing in five away meets. The track & field program will also host three high school track & field meets this season, welcoming high-school student-athletes, their families, and fans onto campus.

Muskingum celebrated the grand opening of the BHWC during Muskingum's 100th Homecoming on Saturday, September 17. A capacity crowd of 2,900 saw the Muskie football team overwhelm Capital 37-7 in the first game enjoyed by spectators in the BHWC.

The celebration provided an opportunity for Muskingum to recognize and thank those who fueled the dream and made it a reality through their generosity. More than 850 individual and organizational donors – alumni and friends, businesses and industries, foundations, government, and community organizations. Families and groups came together to make gifts honoring their Muskingum legacy and history.

The BHWC's lead benefactor, the late Henry D. Bullock '77, is recognized with a plaque in the main entrance, along with plaques acknowledging donors who made significant gifts, including the Board of Trustees, whose initial leadership contributions began the project.
