The Muskingum men's golf team opened its spring season with a fourth-place finish at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational at Ashton Oaks G.C. Saturday-Sunday.
The Basics
- Muskingum shot a two-day total of 650 (330-320).
- Muskingum used a strong second-day finish to jump from sixth place to fourth in the 10-team field.
- The invitational was played at Ashton Oaks Golf Club in North Bend, Ohio.
- The course was a par 72 and 6908 yards long.
- Mount St. Joseph hosted the event.
- Otterbein won the team title with a 627 (308-319).
- John Carroll's John Schnur won medalist honors with a 149 (72-77).
On The Course
- Junior Luke Janci led the Muskies with a two-day total of 159 (81-78). He finished tied for 12th in the 79-golfer field.
- Sophomore Jacob Van Leeuwen finished tied for 15th with a 160 (83-77).
- Junior Austin Wilkinson finished tied for 21st with a 162 (78-84).
- Freshman Andy Cornell finished tied for 42nd with a 173 (92-81).
- Freshman Christian Taylor rounded out the team scoring with a 176 (88-88).
- Junior Erik Allbright competed as an individual and carded a 173 (88-85) to finish tied for 42nd.
