McAdams named OAC Women’s Cross Country Outstanding Performer

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that graduate senior Macy McAdams has been named the conference's Women's Cross Country Outstanding Performer for her stellar 2022 season.

This season, McAdams claimed the OAC Women's Cross Country individual championship with a 6K time of 22:29.6. Muskingum hosted the OAC Championships at Moorehead Farm, the University's state-of-the-art cross country facility. McAdams became Muskingum's first OAC Cross Country champion since 1991 when Harriett Scheid brought the crown back to New Concord.

McAdams also made history by becoming the school's first national qualifier. McAdams finished ninth at the NCAA Regional Championships to advance to the national meet. While at nationals, McAdams tallied a time of 23:51.2 to finish 157th out of the 293-runner field. McAdams was one of only three OAC women's cross country runners to qualify for the NCAA National Championships as an individual, and the event was hosted by Olivet College in Lansing, Mich. 

The 2022 season was full of success for McAdams as she tallied two race wins and five top-10 finishes. Notably among her achievements, McAdams claimed the top spot at the annual Muskingum Meet. McAdams tallied a 5K time of 19:54.8 to claim the individual title. McAdams' performance earned her OAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors.

Along with that, McAdams also earned All-Ohio accolades when she finished fifth at the All-Ohio Championships. McAdams registered a 5K time of 18:51.9 to earn All-Ohio honors. She also put in a solid showing at the Oberlin Invitational, where she finished fifth overall with a 6K time of 22:13.4.
