McAdams set for historic National Championship Appearance

Graduate senior Macy McAdams is set to compete at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Championships held at Forest Akers G.C. in Lansing, Mich. on Saturday, November 19. McAdams is Muskingum's first cross country national qualifier in school history.

McAdams punched her ticket into the national championships with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Regional Championships last Saturday in Holland, Mich. McAdams tallied a 6K time of 21:44.5 to finish ninth out of the 247-runner field.

"It's been an exciting journey for Macy," said Muskingum Cross Country Head Coach Jake Gleason. "She has experienced many highs and lows throughout her time here. To be able to reach this level and compete against some of the best women's cross country athletes in the country makes all the time and effort worthwhile for her."

Earlier this season, McAdams won the individual title at the OAC Championships with a 6K time of 22:29.6. The event was hosted at Morehead Farm, Muskingum's state-of-the-art cross country facility. McAdams became Muskingum's first OAC cross country champion since 1991 when Harriett Scheid brought the crown back to New Concord.

The women's national championship race is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19. Links to follow live stats and to watch the race live will be available on fightingmuskies.com.
