Volleyball claims home-opening win in straight sets

The Muskingum volleyball team spiked Ohio Christian in its home opener in the Anne C. Steele Center on Thursday evening. The Muskies won 25-16, 25-18, 25-18.

Up at the Net

  • The Muskies were led by senior Katie Hunt with a game-high 10 kills.
  • Junior Chloe Brandewie added eight kills and a team-high three blocks.
  • Freshman Chrystal McCoy logged five kills.
  • Ohio Christian was led by Lexi Jacobs with five kills.

Assisting the Attack

  • Freshmen Rhieannae Cory and Kennedy Brown aided the attack with 17 and 11 assists, respectively.
  • Ohio Christian setter, Olivia Wireman recorded eight assists.

Defending the Court

  • Junior Deidre Prince defended the court for the Muskies recording a team-high 18 digs.
  • Sophomore Jordan Youngs and Hunt both finished with five digs a piece.
  • The Trailblazers were led by Karee Neff with eight digs.

Inside the Box Score

  • As a team, Muskingum finished with 46 kills, 46 digs, and nine blocks.
  • The straight set win was the second of the season for the Muskies.
