Track and Field competes at OAC Championships

The Muskingum track and field teams competed at the Ohio Athletic Conference outdoor championships hosted by Mount Union on Thursday and Friday.

 The Basics

Location:  Kehres Stadium – Alliance, Ohio

For the Men

  • Muskingum finished nine out of the 10-team field.
  • Muskingum scored a total of 23 points.
  • Mount Union won the OAC Championship with a total of 238 points.
  • Freshman Noah Mitchell earned All-OAC honors after is second-place mark of 13.69 meters in the triple jump. 
  • Freshman Ryan Irwin notched a fifth-place finish in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.51.
  • The 400-meter relay team of Irwin, sophomore Colton Whyte, freshman Trey Gastrich, and Mitchell earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 42.95.
  • In the shot put, senior Tristan Makowski earned a fifth-place finish after throwing a distance of 14.72 meters. 
  • Senior Daniel Odette-Spillner finished eighth in the discus with a mark of 42.34 meters. 
  • Whyte also finished eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.42.
  • The 3200-meter relay team of freshman Korey Kakascik, sophomore Shane Funk, freshman Michael Javorsky, and freshman Parker Graf ran a time of 9:33.77 to finish eighth.

For the Women

  • Muskingum scored a total of 19 points.
  • Mount Union won the OAC Championship with a total of 213 points.
  • Senior Macy McAdams earned All-OAC honors after placing third in the 5,000-meter with a time of 17:40.09.
  • Freshman Averi Wallace notched a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.35.
  • Freshman Kilikina Schultz tabbed a seventh-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles after running a time of 15.78.
  • The 400-meter relay team of freshman Liberty Bunting, sophomore Jacquelynn Grinnell, senior Emily Fieseler, and Wallace finished seventh with a time of 51.46.
  • The 3200-meter relay team of freshman Rylee Bollenbacher, freshman Abigail Derry, freshman Rosemary Stephens, and freshman Kyra Kiessling ran a time of 11:02.05 to finish seventh. 
  • Freshman Avrie O'Neil notched a 10th place finish in the shot put with a mark of 42.05 meters.
