Women’s Track and Field finishes second at Muskingum Invitational

The Muskingum women's Track and Field team finished second out of an eight-team field at the Muskingum Invitational on Thursday at Johnson Family Track.

 The Basics

  • Muskingum finished second out of a eight-team field.
  • The Muskies tallied a total of 134 points.
  • West Liberty won the event with a team total of 257 points.

 On the Track

  • Freshman Kyra Kiessling captured first in the 1500 meter with a time of 5:34.78, while freshman Alyssa Heinrichs finished fifth (6:05.81), and Jillian Ayres finished sixth (6:24.21). 
  • Freshman Averi Wallace secured first-place in the 400-meter with a time of 1:00.42, while freshman Abigail Derry tallied fifth (1:08.31), and freshman Emily Keylor finished sixth (1:11.92).
  • Freshman Kilikina Schultz tallied a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.28, while freshman Izabella Erlenbach finished third (1:19.05).
  • The 4x100 meter relay team of freshman Liberty Bunting, sophomore Jacquelynn Grinnell, freshman Averi Wallace, and senior Emily Fieseler finished second with a time of 52.22.
  • In the 100-meter hurdles, Schultz notched a second-place finish with a time of 16.35, while freshman Savannah Strawmyer finished third (18.75), Erlenbach finished fourth (19.36), and sophomore Hailey Stroud finished fifth (20.72). 
  • In the 5,000-meter, Rosemary Stephens notched a second-place finish with a time of 21.15.06. 
  • In the 800-meter, Kiessling finished seventh (2:41.99), while junior Madison Curavo finished eighth (2:53.84). 
  • Wallace also finished sixth in the 200-meter with a time of (27.72).

 In the Field

  • O'Neil notched a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.21 meters.
  • Senior Kiri Williams finished seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 2.70 meters, while freshman Savannah Strawmyer also finished with a mark of 2.70 meters to place eighth.
  • Sophomore Jacquelynn Grinnell claimed a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.55 meters, followed by freshman Briana Rowe who placed seventh (4.53 meters), and freshman Teasia Jones taking eighth (4.18 meters).
  • Grinnell also finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 9.43 meters.
  • Senior Jace Wigal secured a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 10.23 meters, while O'Neil finished seventh (10.08 meters).
  • In the discus, freshman Kylie Andres finished seventh (31.11 meters), while Wigal placed eighth (30.91 meters).
  • In the javelin throw, Williams finished eighth with a mark of 21.48 meters.
