Women's tennis slips in OAC battle against Baldwin Wallace

The Muskingum women's tennis team narrowly slipped in an Ohio Athletic Conference battle against Baldwin Wallace on Monday afternoon at Zanesville High School, 5-4.

Baldwin Wallace clung to a 2-1 lead after doubles play. The Muskies' third doubles tandem of senior Kaylee Anstaett and senior Jane Boyer won via default to secure the Muske point.

In singles play, sophomore Scarlett Martell beat Gillian Brown at fourth singles in a three-set thriller 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (8-6). 

Boyer won a three-set comeback in fifth singles against Juliet Penrod 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Anstaett completed the Muskie scoring with a default win at sixth singles.

Muskingum next hosts Capital for Senior Day on Wednesday, April 12. The match is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Zanesville High School.
