Women's Soccer suffers early season setback

The Muskingum women's soccer team suffered an early season setback as they fell 6-3 to Oberlin Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

  • Freshman Emily Fischer wasted no time as she scored the games first goal in the opening minute of play. Fisher chipped a long ball from freshman Abigail Wagner just out of the reach of the Oberlin netminder. Wagner finished the contest with two assists.
  • Senior Morgan Price would tally a goal in the 55th minute off an assist from junior Tori Stuard.
  • Junior Stephanie Siwicki would net the final ball for the Muskies as she drilled a shot just over the keepers head.
  • Despite the Muskie threat, the Yeowomen held strong firing off a game-high 22 shots.
  • Oberlin was led by Jackie Brant, Taylor French, and Gwennie Gardiner all with two goals each.

Between the Pipes

  • Senior Liz Mitchell logged 90 minutes of work in frame surrendering six goals. The senior recorded five saves.
  • Emma Gordon earned the win for Oberlin making five saves through 90 minutes of play.
