Women's Soccer honored with NSCAA prestigious awards

The Muskingum women's soccer team was the only university or college in Ohio to be honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the prestigious NSCAA Ethics/Sportsmanship Gold Award for 2015. In addition, the Muskies were also awarded the NSCAA Team Academic Award.

The Muskies were one of only 16 men's or women's teams across the nation to achieve the Gold Award which spans across all National Collegiate Athletic Association divisions (NCAA), all National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics divisions (NAIA) and all National Junior College Athletic Association divisions (NJCAA).

Muskingum, under the guidance of Head Coach Mary Beth Caudill, who also serves as immediate Past President of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association, has been honored with either the Gold or Silver NSCAA Team Ethics/Sportsmanship Award in 14 of the last 17 years. To be recognized with the Gold Award, a team can receive no red cards and a negligible percentage of yellow cards during the season.

The Muskies earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award after achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or greater for the 2014-15 academic year. Muskingum has now been recognized for its academic excellence in 17 of the last 19 years.
