Injury-riddled Muskies sustain setback

The Muskingum women's soccer team, battling a rash of early-season injuries, sustained a 3-0 setback against Wooster on a hot night in McConagha Stadium on Tuesday.

The Basics

How It Happened

  • The Scots grabbed the first half lead with a goal by Sadie Norton in the 22nd minute. 
  • Harper Jones scored two second half goals off of corner kicks to complete the scoring.
  • The Muskies were led by junior Jessica Gutierrez who tallied three shots.
  • Freshman Hailey Ferguson took two shots for the Muskies.
  • Sophomore Natalie O'Dell, senior Hailey Dickey and sophomore Miranda Bishop all logged one strike.
  • Wooster ended the game with a 20-8 advantage in shots and 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Between The Pipes

  • Freshman Heather Maxwell started in frame for Muskingum and played the opening 65 minutes and made six saves and allowed two goals. Junior Liz Mitchell played the final 25 minutes in frame and made one save and allowed one goal.
  • Carly Eppler and Elizabth Clark teamed for the shutout. Eppler played the first 79 minutes and Clark finished the last 11 minutes.
