Muskies hit road bump at Wilmington

The Muskingum women's soccer team fell on the road at Wilmington on Wednesday night, 2-0.

The Muskies (9-7-1, 2-6) next host John Carroll on Saturday, November 1 for Senior Night. Prior to the 7:00 p.m. start in McConagha Stadium, Muskingum will recognize seniors Moriah Mathies, Carissa Myler and Melissa Emmerich.

Wilmington (6-11, 1-7) used two first-half goals to secure the win. Taylor Scott scored in the 23rd minute and Alexis Bailey completed the scoring in the 43rd minute.

The Quakers ended the game with a 15-6 advantage in shots and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

Muskingum was paced by Mathies who had a team-high three strikes. Myler, sophomore Morgan Price and sophomore Stephanie Price each tallied one shot.

Sophomore Liz Mitchell started in frame and played the opening 67 minutes and made three saves and allowed two goals. Emmerich played the final 23 minutes and recorded four saves.

Taylor Franklin made one save en route to the shutout.
