Mathies makes history with back-to-back OAC Player of the Week honors

For the second consecutive week and for the first time in program history, Muskingum senior Moriah Mathies has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

With the honor, Mathies becomes the first-ever Muskie dating back to 1987 to be recognized as the OAC Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks.

Mathies tallied three goals and two assists last week to help propel Muskingum to a 2-0 week of play and set the school record for longest unbeaten streak (5-0-1) in a season.

Against Franciscan, she scored two goals and added an assist to help lead Muskingum to a 4-2 win. Against Mount St. Joseph, Mathies registered one goal and one assist to help Muskingum post a 3-0 shutout victory.

Mathies, who leads the OAC in goals (8), assists (5) and points (21), ranks fifth all-time at Muskingum in career points (42), fifth in assists (12) and sixth in goals (15).

Mathies was also recognized as the OAC Player of the Week on September 8 following her four-goal and one-assist outburst.
