Muskies halted at home

The Muskingum women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback against John Carroll on Saturday afternoon in McConagha Stadium.

The Muskies now stand at 8-5-2 overall and 1-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Muskingum next travels to Mount Union on Tuesday, October 22. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.

John Carroll (6-6-3, 3-2) struck in the 14th minute on a volley in front of the goal by Preston Mendel.

The Blue Streaks added their second tally in the 29th minute on a header off a corner kick by Kristen Profeta.

John Carroll completed the scoring in the 72nd minute on a goal off a reboundby Kaylin Akerly.

Muskingum was paced by sophomore Elise Zimmerman, freshman Samantha Harbert, freshman Marisa Fluharty, freshman Stephanie Price and Summer Setiff who all logged one shot.

Junior Melissa Emmerich played the opening 75 minutes in goal and made seven saves and allowed three goals. Zimmerman played the final 15 minutes in frame.

Haley McDonald played the entire game in goal for the Blue Streaks and had four saves.
