Muskies on the road for OAC action

The Muskingum University women's soccer team slipped in Ohio Athletic Conference play at Otterbein University on Saturday, 3-0.

Muskingum now stands at 7-4-2 overall and 0-3 in the league. The Muskies next travel to Marietta College on Wednesday, October 16. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m.

Otterbein (7-4-1, 2-1) grabbed the early lead in the ninth minute when Megan McCabe scored her fourth goal of the season.

The Cardinals' Jillian Strimbu scored off a McCabe assist in the 15th minute to extend the Otterbein lead to 2-0.

Otterbein completed the scoring in the 72nd minute on a goal by Morgan Hendrickson.

Muskingum was led by junior Moriah Mathies, sophomore Jennifer Hastings, junior Carissa Myler, freshman Sarah Landuyt and freshman Stephanie Price who each logged a shot.

Junior keeper Melissa Emmerich played the opening 75 minutes in goal and recorded 10 saves and allowed three goals. Sophomore Elise Zimmerman played the final 15 minutes in frame and registered two saves.
