Muskingum competes at Ithaca Invitational for season opener

Muskingum traveled to the Ithaca Invitational for its season opener. The Muskies placed 11th at the invite.

The Basics

  • The two-day event was held at the Athletics and Events Center in Ithaca, N.Y.
  • Muskingum finished in 11th place as a team.
  • The Muskies finished with 14 total points.

 On the Mat

  • The Muskies were led by freshman Lee Zoganas, who competed in the 149-pound weight class with a final record of 3-2, scoring eight team points. Zoganas won all three by fall.
  • Senior Noah DeHainaut, who finished 2-2 overall in the 285-pound weight class, scored four points for the Muskies. DeHainaut won by tech fall, and he also won by decision.
  • Freshman Aiden Johnson wrestled in the 149-pound weight class and finished 2-2, earning three team points. Johnson earned his wins by fall and by decision.
  • The following Muskies also wrestled at the meet in their respective weight class: Hunter Heck (125), Justis Schultz (125), Donovan King (133), Chris Davis (141), Zeke Poulos (174), and Dakota Tennant (285).

  • The Muskies will be back in action on Saturday, November 11, when they compete at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational. The invitational will begin at 9:00 a.m.
