Sophomore Jordan Burkholder leads wrestling at Wheaton Invitational

Muskingum sophomore Jordan Burkholder recorded his 19th win of the season in the 125-pound weight bracket to lead the Muskies at the Pete Wilson-Wheaton Invitational Saturday.

The Basics

  • Muskingum placed 26th in the 34-team invitational.
  • Location: Wheaton, Ill. - King Arena

On the Mat

  • Burkholder led the Muskies with a 3-2 overall record at the two-day event. After dropping his opening match, Burkholder went on to win three straight defeating Ryan Smales of Nebraska Wesleyan by fall in 2:47 and Seth Transue of Ohio Northern via technical fall.
  • In the 157-pound bracket, freshman Michael Wilson finished 1-2 overall after defeating Anthony Chiarello of Lakeland by fall.
  • Senior Jon Raugh, sophomore Toby Warrington, junior Anthony Cole-Young and freshman Logan Thomas also finished 1-2 overall.
