Women's Lacrosse dominates Sweet Briar

The Muskingum women's lacrosse team dominated Sweet Briar on Thursday afternoon en route to a 15-4 win.

Notable

  • Junior Hannah Heyboer recorded four assists which are tied for second all-time for assists in a game. She's tied with Carly Spitz, who had four assists against Marietta in 2019. The school record is five assists which are held by sophomore Megan Lang (vs. Waynesburg in 2022).

How it Happened

  • The Muskies led 2-1 after the opening quarter of play.
  • Muskingum took control of the contest with a six-goal outburst in the second quarter to take an 8-3 lead at the break.
  • The Muskies scored four unanswered goals in the third en route to the road win.

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies were led by sophomore Riley Zwagerman who scored four goals and added one assist. She also had eight draw controls.
  • Sophomore Riley Hudock, sophomore Megan Lang, and freshman Maria Decaminada each tallied two goals. Lang also registered one assist, while Hudock had three ground balls.
  • Junior Hannah Heyboer scored one goal and logged four assists.    
  • Freshman Kyleigh Dahlgren made 12 saves in the frame for Muskingum.
  • Sofia Martinez led Sweet Briar with two goals. 
  • Kat Navarro played 60 minutes in goal and made 16 saves for Sweet Briar. 
  • Muskingum ended the outing with a 42-19 advantage in shots and an 18-4 edge in draw controls.
