Women's lacrosse wins first game in program history

The Muskingum women's lacrosse team won its first game in program history after beating Thomas More on Saturday in McConagha Stadium, 15-9. Sophomore Ashley Adams and sophomore Kaeleigh Norvet each scored five goals to lead the Muskie attack. Between the pipes, sophomore Kate Shamel made 11 saves to preserve the historic win.

  • The sophomore tandem of Paige Watterman and Katie Megery each had one strike.
  • Sophomore Courtney Cole led the defensive effort with six caused turnovers.
  • Shamel played all 60 minutes in frame and made 11 saves and allowed nine goals.
  • Muskingum ended the outing with 20 shots and recorded 38 ground balls.
  • Josie Perrino led Thomas More with four goals.
