Wilmington hands Muskingum home loss

Wilmington handed the Muskingum women's lacrosse team a home 14-4 loss in McConagaha Stadium on Saturday.

The Quakers jumped out to a 6-0 lead through the opening 25 minutes of the match to grab the momentum. Wilmington led 6-1 at the break.

In the second half, the Quakers scored the opening three goals to take a 9-1 lead and control of the contest.

Muskingum was led by freshman Paige Watterman who scored two goals on three shots. Freshman Ashley Adams added a goal on two shots and registered four ground balls.

Senior Brianna Bonacci scored one goal and registered eight ground balls and junior Julie Kelley logged seven. Freshman Courtney Cole had six ground balls and caused four turnovers. 

Freshman Samantha Abrahamsen played all 60 minutes in goal and made seven saves.

Wilmington (3-11, 1-3) was paced by Kiki Hall who scored five goals and by Rachel Routzong who recorded a hat trick.

Megan Wieloch played 41 minutes in frame and made three saves.

Muskingum (0-11, 0-4) next plays at Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, April 22. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
