Marietta Stuns Women's Basketball in final seconds

Muskingum was stunned in the waning seconds by Marietta on Wednesday night after the Pioneers stole the ball and converted a three-point play in the final second of the game to secure a 64-63 win.

How It Ended

  • The Muskies stormed back after trailing by 10 points with 4:28 left in the game to take a 63-61 lead with 2:02 left to play. 
  • Muskingum held a 63-61 lead until seven seconds left in the contest, when the Pioneers stole the ball, scored a fast-break layup with .3 seconds left, and drew a foul to have a chance to take the lead.
  • The Pioneers made the free-throw attempt to take a 64-63 lead. 
  • The Muskies called a timeout to advance the ball, and Muskingum's last-second three-point attempt ultimately fell short.

  • Sophomore Claudia Harrington scored 11 points on 5-of-8 (62.5%) shooting from the field. Harrington also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and threw in two blocks.
