The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Muskingum senior guard Taylor DeMassimo the OAC Player of the Week for Women's Basketball.
DeMassimo helped lead the Muskies to a 2-0 record at the McDonald's of Bluffton Holiday Classic, including wins over the Bluffton Beavers and the Hanover Panthers.
DeMassimo had an impressive showing both days, setting a season-high with 19 points on Day 1 against the Beavers with a hot 5-of-7 shooting from behind the three-point line. She then followed that up with another season-high on Day 2 of the Classic, scoring 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field.
DeMassimo finished the week with averages of 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. She also went 13-of-20 (65%) from the field and 10-of-15 (66.7%) from three-point range, while adding in 4-of-4 (100%) from the free-throw line.
DeMassimo helped the Muskies dominate Day 1 of the Classic in a 76-55 win over the Beavers and fueled the Muskies on Day 2 of a 77-74 overtime thrilling win against the Panthers.
This marks DeMassimo's first OAC Player of the Week honor this season.
