No. 12-ranked Carnegie Mellon topples Muskingum

The Muskingum women's basketball team fell in non-conference action Thursday afternoon against no. 12-ranked Carnegie Mellon, 72-55.

Inside the Numbers

  • The Tartans led the entire game.
  • Carnegie Mellon charged ahead in the first period outscoring the Muskies 19-8.
  • In the second period, Muskingum used back-to-back three-pointers to cut the deficit to 23-14 with 7:19 to play.
  • The Tartans defense surrendered just four points in the final five minutes to claim the 37-22 halftime advantage.
  • Despite a second half Muskie rally, the Tartan offense deemed too much as they went on to out score Muskingum 35-33 en route to the victory.
