Women's basketball suffers Senior Day setback

The Muskingum women's basketball team suffered a Senior Day overtime heartbreak against John Carroll on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Streaks scored the game-winning basket with two seconds on the clock to stun the Muskies, 63-62.

Inside The Numbers

  • Junior Mallory Taylor forced overtime with a clutch basket with 44 seconds to play in regulation. The score tied the game at 54-54. Taylor ended the contest with a team-high 23 points and eight rebounds.
  • Taylor gave the Muskies a 61-56 lead on a hoop with 2:14 to play in the extra frame.
  • John Carroll answered the Muskie charge and outscored Muskingum 7-1 to close the game.
  • The Blue Streaks' comeback was highlighted by five offensive rebounds, including the final one by Shmoo Pryor with four seconds remaining. Pryor took the rebound and made the game-winning jumper with two seconds on the clock.
