The Muskingum women's basketball team delivered an early holiday win to its fans on Monday afternoon. The Muskies used a first-half surge to take control against Wooster en route to a 66-51 victory.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (2-7 overall), Wooster (5-5)
- Location: New Concord, Ohio - Muskingum's Recreation Center
First Period
- Muskingum charged out to a 15-8 lead after the opening 10 minutes of play.
- Junior Mallory Taylor led the Muskies with seven points and four rebounds.
- Sophomore Hallie Stocker added three points.
Second Period
- The Muskies took control of the contest with a 17-6 outburst in the second period to take a 32-14 lead into the break.
- Taylor grabbed six rebounds and had three points.
- Junior Jasmine Goings scored six points.
Second Half
- Muskingum maintained its command in the second half and lead by as many 24 (62-38) late in the fourth period.
Post Game
- Taylor logged her second double-double of the season with a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with 13 points.
- Goings ended the game with 12 points and five boards.
- Sophomore Alexandra Carson narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. The nine rebounds marked a career-best for Carson.
- Muskingum ended the game with dominating 51-31 advantage in rebounds.
- Lauren Hancher led Wooster with 12 points.
- Anna Gibbs and Shar Hankerson each had 10 points for the Scots.
