Muskingum splits doubleheader with Alma

The Muskingum softball team slpit doubleheader with Alma on Saturday afternoon. Alma took game one 6-4, while the Muskies blew past the Scots in game two, a final score of 16-8 in five innings.

  • Sophomore Cara Taylor was dominant as she led the Muskies. Taylor went 3-for-3, with a double, four runs, three RBIs, a stolen base and a walk.
  • Sophomore Susie Blocher was a big part of the explosive offense, as she went 3-for-4. Blocher had two doubles, a home run, three RBIs, and two runs.
  • Senior Rosie Hayes fueled the Muskies with runs as she posted three RBIs, two runs and went 2-for-3 with a double.
  • Senior Kalie Eshelman finished with two RBIs, a hit, scored a run, a double, and was walked once.
  • Sophomore Natalie Smith energized the bats as she went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBIs.
  • Freshman Morgan Layne helped put runs on the board as she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
  • Sophomore Eliana Shaheen went 1-for-2 with a run, RBI, and walked once.
  • Freshman Mariah Fields and freshman Olivia Rapol each scored a run.
  • In the pitching circle, freshman Bethany Rodman pitched 4.1 innings and had one strikeout and freshman Mariah Fields finished the last two outs for the Muskies.
