Men’s Track and Field finishes second at Muskingum Invitational

The Muskingum Men's Track and Field team finished second out of an eight-team field at the Muskingum Invitational on Thursday at Johnson Family Track.

The Basics

  • Location: Johnson Family Track – New Concord, Ohio
  • Muskingum finished second out of an eight-team field.
  • The Muskies tallied a total of 119 points.
  • West Liberty won the event with a team total of 273 points.

 On the Track

  • The 4x100 team of freshman Trey Gastrich, freshman Noah Mitchell, senior Seth Roseberry, and freshman Ryan Irwin won the event with a time of 44.44.
  • Sophomore Colton Whyte captured first-place in the 400-meter with a time of 50.31, while sophomore Doudley Jaboin finished eighth with a time of 54.92.
  • Sophomore Chance Carpenter won the 5,000-meter with a time of 16:31.62, while sophomore Shane Funk finished third (17:23.47).
  • Junior Wade Speeth notched second in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:09.02, while freshman Parker Graf tallied fifth with a time of 4:57.49.
  • Irwin claimed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.67, while Roseberry finished sixth with a time of 18:05.
  • In the 800-meter, junior Wade Speeth finished third with a time of 2:03.37, while sophomore Max McAdams finished seventh (2.13.40), and freshman Korey Kakascik finished eighth (2:16.74).
  • Roseberry finished third in the 400-meter with a time of 59.61.
  • In the 200-meter, Irwin placed third (23.22), while Mitchell placed ninth (24.59).
  • Gastrich finished ninth in the 100-meter with a mark of 11.90 meters.

 In the Field

  • Senior Daniel Odette-Spillner finished third in the discus with a mark of 41.13 meters.
  • Gastrich notched a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.20 meters.
  • Freshman Anthony Kocanjer finished sixth in the high jump with a height of 1.70 meters, while freshman Cedrice Bennett leaped a mark of 1.65 meters to finish eighth.
  • In the triple jump, Mitchell finished sixth leaping 12.21 meters.
  • Senior Tristan Makowski claimed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 14.12 meters, while Odetter-Spillner took eighth (12.05 meters).
  • Makowski secured a six-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.18 meters.
  • In the javelin throw, senior Preston Hershberger, registered fifth with a pitch of 36.49 meters, followed by freshman Zachary Amato placing sixth (36.45 meters), and Kocanjer taking seventh (32.75 meters).
