Men's Indoor Track & Field Open their Season at the Case Western Invitational

The Muskingum Men's Indoor Track & Field team opened their season by competing at the Case Western Invitational.

The Basics

  • Location: Cleveland, Ohio - Veale Convocation, Recreation, and Athletic Center
  • Event: This was the first event of the season for the Muskies
  • Info: The event was a non-scoring event

Notables

  • Sophomore Ryan Irwin set the school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.447, passing the previous record of 8.52 that was set by Darrell Briggs in the 2015 season. 

On the Track

  • In the 60-meter hurdles sophomore Ryan Irwin set the school record with a time of 8.447.
  • Junior Colton Whyte ran the 200-meter dash, where he placed sixth with a time of 23.098.

On the Field

  • Senior Tristan Makowski finished sixth-place in the Weight Throw with a distance of 14.04 meters.Makowski also logged a second-place finish in the Shot Put, with a throw of 14.17 meters.
  • Sophomore Trey Gastrich had a Long Jump attempt for 6.48 meters, which was good for seventh-place. Gastrich also finished eighth-place in the Triple Jump.
  • Freshman Daven Gibson recorded a 1.95 meter best in the High Jump, which earned him a second-place finish.
  • Also in the High Jump for the Muskies were freshman Cooper Bell, who finished fifth-place with a 1.85 meter jump, freshman Thomas Christman, who finished seventh-place with a 1.80 meter jump, and sophomore Cedrice Bennett, who placed eighth with a 1.80 meter jump.

  • The Muskies will be back in action on Saturday, January 13, when they will compete at home in the Muskingum Meet #1. The event will be held at the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
