Junior Gene Montgomery led the Muskingum tennis team against Bethany on Sunday morning. Montgomery notched a win at fifth singles.
Montgomery beat Marcus Hooks in a three-set thriller that was decided by a pro-set 10. Montgomery won the opening set 7-6 (7-4) and fell 6-2 in the second set before winning 1-0 in the third set after clinching a 10-8 pro-set.
Overall, Bethany claimed the match by a score of 8-1.
Muskingum next hosts rival Marietta for its season finale on Wednesday, April 22. Match time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
