The Muskingum men's soccer team fell in a close battle with rival Marietta on Thursday night, 2-1.
The Basics

- Leading the Muskie attack was freshman Chris Lytus with one goal on two shots.
- Freshman Mahfuz Yakubu added four shots.
- Freshman Trevor Firkel notched three shots and dished out one assist.
- Sophomore Edwin Palou chipped in three shots for Muskingum.
- Senior Damon Spaeth played all 90 minutes in frame for the Muskies and tallied eight saves.

- Marietta tied it up 1-1 before the half off a goal from Taylor.
- The Pioneers took the lead in the 53rd minute from an Auddino goal to make it 2-1.
- Muskingum played with a man advantage for the final 26 minutes of the match following a red card against the Pioneers.
- Marietta held a slight edge in shots (20-15) and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
