Sprague leads Muskies

Freshman Cody Sprague scored early off of freshman Kyle Baker's corner kick in the first frameto help lead Muskingum to a hard-fought 1-1 double overtime tie at Marietta on Tuesday.

With the tie, Muskingum stands at 5-8-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Muskies next host John Carroll University on Saturday, October 19. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. in McConagha Stadium.

Sprague gave the Muskies a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute. The tally was the fourth of the season for Sprague. The assist was the second of the year for Baker.

Marietta (3-9-1, 0-3-1) tied the game in the ninth minute on Wesley Riley's breakaway. The goal was his 10th of the campaign.

Muskingum ended the outing with 17 shots and was led by Sprague with nine and junior Sean Lally with three.

Senior Will Hess played all 110 minutes in goal and recorded four saves and allowed one goal.

Marietta registered 18 shots. Taylor Reasoner led the Pioneers with seven strikes.

Chris Stoller played the entire game in frame for Marietta and made seven saves and allowed one goal.
