Men's soccer beats Bethany for fifth win of the season

Muskingum University freshman Cody Sprague and freshman Liam Roche each headed in goals to lead the men's soccer team to a 2-0 win at Bethany College on Tuesday afternoon

With the win, Muskingum moves to 5-4 overall. The Muskies next travel to Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday, September 28. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.

Sprague gave the Muskies a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute on a header off of junior John Barr's assist. The goal was the third of the season for Sprague, while the assist was Barr's fourth of the season.

Roche completed the scoring in the 62nd minute on a header off of freshman Chris Heine's corner kick. The tally as the second of the year for Roche and Heine's assist was the first of his career.

Bethany ended the game with a 16-6 advantage in shots and 13-3 edge in corner kicks.

Freshman Mathias Buchner played all 90 minutes in goal and made five saves.

Callum Appleby started the game in goal for Bethany and allowed two goals and made two saves.
