Men's soccer wins in the Big Apple

Muskingum University freshman Andreas Pfefferkorn scored 2 goals, freshman Liam Roche added a goal and 2 assists and sophomore Austin Tourville tallied 2 assists to lead men's soccer to a 4-0 win at Manhattanville on Friday night.

With the win, Muskingum moves to 2-1 overall. The Muskies next host Bluffton University on Wednesday, September 10. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. and will feature live stats on the Muskie Sports Network.

Pfefferkorn gave the Muskies a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute after scoring off a free kick from Tourville that was headed by Roche toward the goal and volleyed by by Pfefferkorn.

Muskingum extended its margin to 2-0 in the 55th minute on an own goal off a corner kick.

Pfefferkorn added his second strike of the contest in the 77th minute after taking a 50-yard through ball from Roche and slotting it into the right corner. The goal was Pfefferkorn's fifth of the young season.

Roche completed the Muskie scoring in the 79th minute off a corner kick from Tourville that was flicked forward by senior Vinny Buzzetta.

Muskingum ended the outing with 10 shots and six corner kicks. Manhattanville also mustered 10 shots and six corner kicks.

Senior Will Hess played 70 minutes between the pipes for Muskingum and recorded five saves.
