Men’s Lacrosse uses Historic Performance to Dismantle Wilmington

The Muskingum men's lacrosse team used a historic performance to dismantle the Wilmington Quakers in a 27-0 shutout on Wednesday night.

  • First-year Head Coach Micheal Jablonski earned his first career Ohio Athletic Conference win in Wednesday's record setting game against Wilmington.
  • The Muskies high-octane offense produced the programs record for the most points in a game with 27 and the most assists in a game with 22.
  • The defense also handled their business by securing the second shutout in program history.
  • Senior Spencer Zecchini etched himself in the record books as he set the program record with the most points in a single game with 15 points, on five goals and 10 assists. Zecchini's 10 assists also set the school record for most assists in a game. His showing also broke the individual record for most assists in a season with 26.

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies recorded 27 goals, 22 assists, 59 shots, 24 ground balls, 6 caused turnovers, and five saves.
  • Zecchini led the dominating Muskies with his stellar performance as he broke numerous records. Zecchini posted 15 points with his 10 assists and five goals. He went 5-for-7 with six goals being on goal.
  • Freshman Evan Cosgrove fueled the Muskies with three goals and four assists, while grabbing two ground balls.
  • Senior Maxwell Pezzot poured in three points with two goals and an assist. Pezzot also grabbed a ground ball.
  • Junior Drew Schneider went a perfect 9-for-9 (100%) on faceoffs. Schneider also scored a goal and tallied six ground balls.
  • Freshman Liam Cameron was 10-for-15 (66%) on faceoffs and picked up three ground balls.
  • Senior Scott Van Iderstine finished 3-for-7 (42%) on faceoffs, with four ground balls.
  • Muskies that also earned themselves a goal are sophomore Sam Bolen, senior Harry Galloway Jr., senior Blake Turano, junior Logan Coon, sophomore Chipper Iacobucci, freshman Kacy Perry, senior Travis Geyer, freshman Kai Hundt, and sophomore Jacob McDermott.
  • Standing between the pipes were senior Trevor Connolly, sophomore Jeremy Hollow, and freshman Jack Muldowney. Hollow made four saves on four shots, while Muldowney had one save on one shot.
  • Wilmington recorded no goals, no assists, 11 shots, 26 ground balls, six cause turnovers, and 16 saves.
