The Muskingum men's lacrosse team battled John Carroll in their Ohio Athletic Conference home opener on Friday afternoon. The Muskies fell to the Blue Streaks, 14-8.

How it Happened

• At the end of the first quarter the Blue Streaks led the Muskies 6-2. In the second quarter, John Carroll would extend their lead to five. After the break, in the third quarter the Muskies would strike back and score three goals in one minute and 41 seconds to make the score 10-7 John Carroll. The Blue Streaks would win the game 14-8.

Inside the Numbers

• The Muskies recorded eight goals, five assists, 27 shots, 28 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and 16 saves.
• Freshman Evan Cosgrove led the Muskies with two goals and two assists, while grabbing three ground balls.
• Senior Spencer Zecchini helped fuel the Muskies with two goals and two assists, with two ground balls. Zecchini had four shots on goal and caused a turnover.
• Senior Grant Webster kept powering the Muskies offense with two goals and a assist. Webster grabbed one ground ball.
• Senior Jack Watts threw in a goal and added two ground balls.
• Junior Drew Schneider went 14-for-24 (58.3%) on face-offs with seven ground balls and a goal.
• Senior Trevor Connolly stood in goal. Connolly finished with 16 saves and four ground balls.
• John Carroll recorded 14 goals, 13 assists, 56 shots, 42 ground balls, 10 cause turnovers, and six saves.
• John Carroll was led by Colin Morrissey with eight goals and two assists. Morrissy added three ground balls.
