Zecchini and Connolly earn All-OAC selections

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that juniors Spencer Zecchini and Trevor Connolly have been named to the Men's Lacrosse All-OAC Honorable Mention list following their standout 2023 seasons. This marks the first time in program history the Muskies have had two All-OAC selections in the same season.

Zecchini earns his third career All-OAC nod after a season that cemented himself in the Muskingum record books. This year, Zecchini tallied team-highs in goals (36), assists (16), and points (52); while also adding 54 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers as well. Zecchini now holds the program record for most career goals with 90, and his 36 goals this year fell one short of the program record for most goals in a single season. Zecchini also holds the program record for most career points with 139, and he also ranks sixth all-time in program history with 143 ground balls.

Connolly, who earns his first career All-OAC selection, caps off a stellar year in net for the Muskies. Connolly finished the year with a career-high 207 saves, and he finished with a save percentage of 56.3 for the season. His 207 saves this year ranks second all-time for saves in a single season. Connolly started in net all 16 games for Muskingum, and he grabbed 64 ground balls on the year as well. Connolly ranks second all-time in career saves with 549, and he also ranks fourth in career ground balls with 150.

Muskingum capped off the 2023 season with a thrilling 13-9 win over OAC-rival Marietta. In the contest, Zecchini recorded a season-high seven goals while also grabbing six ground balls. Against the Pioneers, Connolly registered six saves and grabbed five ground balls. The win over Marietta capped off the program's second straight seven-win season, the first time Muskingum has won at least seven games in back-to-back years.
