Zecchini named OAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that junior Spencer Zecchini was named the OAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for his seven-goal performance in Muskingum's thrilling 13-9 win over Marietta last Wednesday. The nomination marks Zecchini's second player of the week award this season, and it's the third of his career.

Last week agains the Pioneers, Zecchini poured in a season-high seven goals to lead the Muskies past Marietta 13-9. The win marked the second straight year Muskingum has defeated their OAC rivals, and it secured the program's second straight seven-win season as well. Along with his seven goals, Zecchini also tallied six ground balls and two caused turnovers.

In the contest, Zecchini moved into first place all-time in career goals with 90, and he also set the program record for most points in a season with 139. Zecchini is also the current record holder for most goals in a season with 37 set in 2022. With the win over the Pioneers, Muskingum finished tied for sixth place in the OAC standings. The Muskies narrowly missed a berth in the OAC Tournament based on goal differential among the tied teams.
