Men’s Lacrosse beats Thiel behind strong team effort

The Muskingum men's lacrosse team defeated Thiel 16-6 on Saturday to improve to 6-2 on the season.

How it Happened

  • After scoring four quick goals to start the game, the Muskies held a 4-1 advantage after the first period.
  • The Muskies rattled off six straight goals to open the second quarter; however, Thiel was able to register two goals of their own to make the score 10-3 at halftime.
  • The third frame saw Thiel trim the Muskie lead down to 11-6 heading into the fourth quarter.
  • However, the Muskies outscored the Tomcats 5-0 in the final period to secure their 16-6 victory.

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies were led by sophomore Jack Watts who registered five goals on the afternoon.
  • Junior Maxwell Pezzot tallied three goals for Muskingum. Pezzot also notched two ground balls and one assist.
  • Sophomore Spencer Zecchini, sophomore Grant Webster, and freshman Alec Terbovich each registered two goals apiece for the Muskies. Zecchini picked up four ground balls and dished out three assists, while Webster tallied three ground balls.
  • Junior Nathan Robey and sophomore Hunter McGuire also recorded one goal each for Muskingum.
  • Sophomore Trevor Connolly recorded the win in goal for Muskingum after registering eight saves.
