Men's lacrosse suffers home setback

The Muskingum men's lacrosse team lost 15-5 against Mount Union on Wednesday night in McConagha Stadium.

Mount Union (4-8, 1-3) led 5-0 after the opening period and added the first two strikes in the second period to take a 7-0 lead and control of the contest.

Leading the Muskie attack were senior Joey Alford, junior David DeGood, junior Jason Hammond, freshman Zach Kern and sophomore Andrew Buchbinder who all scored one goal. Buchbinder also added an assist.

Freshman Ohlen Rudy, freshman Luke Rust and senior Robert Bartosiewicz all recorded four ground balls.

Freshman Phillip Dappen took the loss after making 11 saves and allowing 11 goals in 47 minutes of action.

Michael Taylor led Mount Union with five goals and Nick West and Chris Daley each added three goals.

Collin Peters grabbed the win in frame playing the opening 30 minutes and making six saves.

Muskingum (3-8, 0-3) next plays at Wilmington on Saturday, April 18. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
