Weather cuts men's lacrosse game short at Otterbein

The Muskingum men's lacrosse team lost in a weather-shortened contest at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Otterbein on Wednesday evening, 11-1.

The game, which marked Muskingum's first-ever OAC contest, was stopped in the third period due to weather.

Sophomore Andrew Buchbinder scored the Muskies' goal at the 6:35 mark of the third period. It was his lone shot of the night.

The Freshmen tandem of Zach Kern and Tucker Haas each tallied four shots. Kern and Haas each registered two ground balls too.

Freshman Phillip Dappen started in frame and played the opening 30 minutes. He allowed nine goals and made seven saves. Sophomore Taylor Masterson played the final 10:35 and allowed two goals and made one save.

Otterbein (8-3, 2-0) was paced by nine different goal scorers. Marcus Willis and Mike Sullivan led the attack with two goals each. Willis also added a pair of assists.

John Brandon started the game in net did not allow a goal, while making three saves in the opening 30 minutes.

Otterbein led 4-0 at the end of the first period and took a 9-0 lead into the break. 

Buchbinder's goal trimmed the Muskie gap to 10-1 in the third period. The Cardinals answered the Muskie strike with the final tally of the night right before the game was stopped.

Muskingum (3-6, 0-1) next hosts Capital on Saturday, April 11. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m. in McConagha Stadium.
