Transylvania shuts out men's lacrosse

Transylvania controlled play throughout the game en route to beating Muskingum on Saturday afternoon, 14-0.

The Muskies mustered just 10 shots on the day and was led by sophomore Andrew Buchbinder, junior Jason Hammond and freshman Tucker Haas who each recorded two shots.

Freshman Luke Rust registered three ground balls and Haas, Hammond, freshman Ohlen Rudy and freshman Andrew Ward all had two.

Freshman Phillip Dappen made his first career start in goal and made a career-high 17 saves.

Transylvania (5-5) peppered 59 shots and was led by Zach Roby who had seven goals and one assist.

The Pioneers led 3-0 after the first period and 5-0 at the break. They capped off the scoring with five goals in the third period and four in the final frame.

Muskingum (3-5) next opens Ohio Athletic Conference play at Otterbein on Wednesday, April 8. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
