Men's Bowling finishes 5th at ITC National Championships

The Muskingum men's bowling team finished fifth at the ITC National Championships in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, after making a deep run as a 16-seed. The Muskies made history as the first 16-seed, in the 50 year tournament history, to beat a No. 1 seed.

How It Happened

  • The Muskies dominated in a historical matchup that saw them take down Webber International, 4-0. This was the first time a 16-seed had won in the first round of the tournament in its 50 year history.
  • In round two, Muskingum would face an eighth seeded Calumet, who they proceeded to beat 4.5-2.5. With this win the Muskies would advance to round five where they would face the fourth ranked Wichita State.
  • The Muskies would fall in round five to Wichita State in a 4-0 contest. This would push Muskingum into the contenders bracket and have them in a rematch with Webber International.
  • In the rematch, the Muskies would fall to Webber International in a spirited match.
