Dempsey and Keith named to NABC Honors Court

Muskingum men's basketball junior guard Marcus Dempsey and senior guard Micah Keith have been recognized for their academic excellence in the classroom by being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court.

Dempsey, a business management major, played in only six games last year due to an early-season injury. During his time on the court, Dempsey averaged 25.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. He was named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week and was selected to the Academic All-OAC Honor Roll.

Keith, a middle childhood education major, saw action in 15 games for the Muskies. He averaged over seven minutes per contest and helped lead the Muskies to the OAC Tournament.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The student-athlete must be academically a junior or senior and a varsity player, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year. Students must also have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
