Marcus Dempsey named Second Team All-Great Lakes Region by National Association of Basketball Coaches

Muskingum men's basketball sophomore Marcus Dempsey was named Second Team All-Great Lakes Region in voting conducted by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) within the NCAA Division III. Dempsey was also named D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region which was voted on by the Sports Information Directors from schools in their region.

Dempsey, the First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team recipient as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), finished the regular season ranked first in the OAC and third in Division III in points per game (30.3). He ended the season shooting .506 from the field and .400 from the arc, while collecting 113 rebounds, 62 assists, and 20 steals. His career/season-high was 57 points, which set the school record for points scored in a game at Oberlin on December 30, 2017. The previous record was 54 points set in 1912-13 by Babe Arnold. Dempsey concluded the season with 758 points, which also broke the most points scored in a season record. The previous record was 559 points set in 1990-1991 by Andy Moore. Lastly, Dempsey scored his 1,000 career point in the Muskies 112-103 win against then NCAA Division III #23 John Carroll, becoming the 32nd Muskie to achieve this milestone.
